Our medical program encompasses a variety of helpful services
When people think of modern medicine, they often think of invasive, biochemical interventions with terrible side effects. Typically, that is exactly what most medical approaches involve. Most traditional approaches do not address the root causes, and seem to create as many problems as they solve.
Joliet Medical Center has the opposite philosophy. We offer medical services with natural ingredients, and always serve patients using the least invasive methods available. We specialize in Integrative Physical Medicine—an approach to the human body grounded in both modern medical knowledge and the natural healing processes of the body.
Joint injections are a common choice of treatment for countless types of joint pain and especially for a variety of knee problems. In our office we can treat the knees, shoulders, and sacroiliac joints. The injection procedures have been studied extensively and are well-established. Through clinical trials it has been demonstrated that joint injections in these areas are minimally invasive and a safe technique. A good many of individuals have avoided having to undergo surgery by choosing to try joint injections first. Patients who are successful with joint injections typically report an impressive reduction of pain as well as their mobility in the affected area. A considerable amount of people tend to gain the ability to return back to their daily activities after a round of joint injections. This treatment option is enormously useful because it is an outpatient procedure that can be quickly performed in our office.
A trigger point injection is a minimally invasive treatment that is done conveniently in our office as an outpatient procedure. It can be used to treat a range of chronic pain conditions that disturb the myofascial trigger points in the body. Trigger points can occur in various regions of the body and can often be felt as a “lump”. Trigger point pain has been connected to fibromyalgia, tension headaches, migraines, myofascial pain syndrome, neck pain, and back pain but can also occur in the extremity musculature. Repetitive minor injuries and acute traumatic events can aide to the development of trigger points as well. Patients suffering from a chronic pain condition should speak with our medical staff to determine if trigger point injections may be an effective treatment option for their condition. Trigger point injections are notably safe, with the most common side effect being injection site tenderness.
As more and more people are becoming knowledgeable about the benefits of taking B12 injections to enhance and supplement their body’s needs, vitamin B12 injections are becoming a health fad. Not very long ago, B12 was only used for serious B12 deficiencies. Now, with all the newly gained knowledge about the multiple benefits of B12 for day to day use and overall health, people are choosing to use B12 injections as part of their normal wellness routine. Everyone is in need of more energy these days. With so many people doing double or triple duty between work, kids, school, family, friends and let us not forget exercise, many are turning to B12 to find this much needed energy the natural way. B12 has been proven to be a great natural energy booster and more recently has also been noted to be great for the skin, can aid in weight loss by curbing your appetite and has innumerable medical benefits. It is a fact that B12 is essential to the body and the body must have it to stay in balance. Injections are the preferred option because it is a direct and immediate absorption into the blood stream. B12 is genuinely safe as it is a natural supplement.
The benefits of using digital radiology for imaging are infinite. Digital x-rays are available immediately for viewing and can be enhanced at the click of a button. We can change the contrast (to lighter or darker), enlarge images, place color enhancement or superimpose various textures on images. All this allows for a faster and more efficient diagnosis. This speeds up treatment plans and less radiation is used compared to conventional radiology. In addition, the patient can have the x-ray images on a compact disk to take to another physician or hospital, which can be done in our office in a matter of minutes.
The Functional Exam is the heart of our rehabilitation program. Performed by our highly trained medical staff, the Functional Exam assesses weaknesses and limitations in the movements of the body, so we can target rehabilitation and massage to address those issues.
